Dear AireSpring Partner,

AT&T is offering to provide demarcation (demarc) extensions for Ethernet services from the Minimum Point of Entry (MPOE) to the customer’s suite and/or router location for Free!

Applicability:

  • The demarc extension offer applies to AireSpring products which are delivered utilizing an AT&T Ethernet circuit including AT&T Business Fiber (ABF).
  • This offer does not apply to AT&T T1, TDM or Wireless services.

 Benefits:

  • The loop delivery and demarc extension are done on the same day.
  • The customer does not need to hire a separate contractor to wire from the MPOE to the customer suite or router location, a big savings for customers that qualify.
  • This helps the customer and AireSpring schedule their test and turn up sooner than in the past.
  • AT&T technicians will automatically provide this wiring from the MPOE to the customer’s suite at the time of the Ethernet installation. The customer does not need to do anything at all! The work will be done by the same tech who turns up the Ethernet service during the same site visit.
  • If conduit is required for a fiber DMARC extension, the AT&T field technician will engage a 3rd party contractor to install the conduit. Once the conduit has been installed, the AT&T field technician will return to the site and complete the work.
  • This demarc extension offer will bring AT&T Ethernet services into parity with competitors that currently extend their cabling all the way to the customer’s suite.

 Conditions:

  • The demarc extension will only be done during the same service call as the Ethernet installation order.
  • The customer must provide reasonable access to the premises during normal business hours (8 am to 5 pm) for loop delivery and demarc extensions.
  • The customer must provide a clear path from the MPOE to their suite or router location.
  • The customer should be aware that AT&T will not install or connect any AireSpring or customer equipment. The customer will still have to have their qualified technician available to test with AireSpring.
  • The customer must provide a safe worksite for AT&T employees, including, but not limited to:
    • (1) promptly notifying AT&T of any worksite hazards such as presence of asbestos or other hazardous substances
    • (2) removing worksite hazards, when the removal of such hazards is necessary to allow AT&T to safely install demarc extensions
    • (3) paying the cost of removing such hazards or taking other appropriate safety measures
  • AT&T reserves the right to refuse to perform work on any premises it deems unsafe. Customer must comply with all other preparation requirements reasonably deemed necessary by AT&T and provided in writing to Customer.
  • The demarc extension offer is good for up to 1,000 feet for optical (fiber) extensions, or up to 328 feet for electrical (copper) extensions. The standard interface connectors are SC for optical or RJ-45 for electrical hand-offs.
  • The demarc extension offer is only for simple demarc extensions and will not include complex factors, such as:
    • Core drilling
    • Removal or replacement of interlocking ceiling tiles
    • Removal of existing inside wiring
    • Signal repeaters/extenders or media converters

 Qualification:

  • AT&T expects the majority of orders will qualify for demarc extensions. If so, AT&T will extend the demarc for free.
  • The AT&T technician will inform the customer during the installation visit if their specific circumstances exceed the scope of the offer, or otherwise does not qualify.
  • For customer’s whose locations do not qualify, AireSpring also offers other demarc extension services at an additional charge (See contract for details).

 Other Considerations:

  • Some building owners and managers have a list of approved contractors that can install demarc extensions. In many cases, AT&T may not be on that list and will not be allowed to install the wiring.
  • AT&T is installing demarc extensions as a courtesy to speed up availability for customers. If a customer does not want the technician to perform the service, they will need to tell the technician at the time of the installation.

Comparison to AT&T’s Entrance Facility Offer:

  • The demarc extension solution is completely separate from AT&T’s Entrance Facility Construction offer.
  • The demarc extensions offer connects the MPOE to the customer’s suite within the building. The Entrance Facility Construction offer includes inside and outside construction work to connect the building to the AT&T network (from the MPOE to the street or curb).
  • AT&T’s Entrance Facility Construction offer provides the following:
    • Conduit from property line to building (up to 1,000 feet only)
    • Core drilling and weatherproofing of the building
    • Backboard
    • Power
    • Ground
  • In many instances, AT&T provides the Entrance Facility Construction for free. If the free offer is not extended, a customer can purchase EFC for an additional fee.

 Final Notes:

  • If the Customer accepts this free AT&T demarc extension offer, the Customer shall hold AireSpring harmless from all damages and liability caused by or arising from AT&T’s demarc extension work.
  • AT&T and/or AireSpring have the sole right to discontinue this offer at any time or to change the terms of this offer. AT&T also has the right to unilaterally revoke this free offer to any customer at AT&T’s sole discretion.
